DEO Bandipora notifies Toll Free No 1950, for the public to register complaints of MCC Violations

BANDIPORA, MARCH 20: District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Bandipora, Shakeel-ur-Rehman on Wednesday asked the political parties and contesting candidates to desist from intimidating or bribing the voters and urged them to strictly follow the Model Code of Conduct.

Through a general public notice, DEO brought to the notice of General Public, Contesting Candidates and Political parties that violation(s) of Mode Code of Conduct including public intimidation, threats, influences and bribery of electors like distribution of cash/liquor etc., are offence(s) under section 171B IPC and corrupt practices under section 123 of Representation of People Act, 1951.

The DEO informed the general public that Complaint(s), if any, in case of such violations, can be lodged with the Complaint Monitoring Cell established in office of the District Election Officer, Bandipora on  Toll Free  No 1950 or Complaint Monitoring Centre Mini Secretariat Bandipora on 01957-225322.

Besides, c-VIGIL mobile App can also be downloaded to register such complaints through online mode.
