Lok Sabha Elections 2024 Mega SVEEP event held at Keran, Kupwara

KUPWARA, MAY 19: In a last-mile effort to boost voter awareness and participation, a mega awareness programme was organized under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative, at picturesque border area Keran in Kupwara district.

Enthusiastic voters thronged the Mega (SVEEP) Programme, conveying their enthusiasm and eagerness to participate in Lok Sabha elections on May 20th.

The mega event, which was organized on the directions of District Election Officer (DEO) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan, featured multiple activities, including, sports activities, Tug of War and cultural performances like folk dance and folk songs exhibited the vibrant talent among the local youth and the students.

A massive Tiranga rally was organized which started from Higher Secondary schools and marched through the Keran Market, along the Kishanganga River.

Chief Education Officer Kupwara, Abdul Majeed Dar, who is also District Nodal Officer SVEEP, appreciated the local residents of Keran for their commitment towards strengthening democracy. He urged them to come out and vote in huge numbers so that Kupwara district achieves highest voter turnover.

The CEO further said that SVEEP activities across the district have inspired the young voters towards the electoral process. Meanwhile, voters’ pledge was taken by the participants.
Mega event was attended by first-time voters, students besides other officers.
