REASI, NOVEMBER 26: Department of Social Welfare in convergence with Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihood Mission (JKRLM) organized Skill Development Training Course “Knitting Wool Fabrics using Innovative Women Friendly Machinery” at Village Dasanoo in Block Reasi under the flagship Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme.
A batch of 30 Self Help Group Members is participating in the 15 days training course.
The training course was inaugurated by District Social Welfare Officer Sachin Sharma. He emphasised that the specific objective of this training course was to make women self-reliant.
He interacted with all the participants and guided them to regularly attend the sessions to take full advantage of the training. He emphasized that the training course shall be imparted to them by a specialised trainer Ritu Verma from Jammu who has vast experience in imparting skill development training.
The DSWO also sensitised the candidates about different self-employment schemes offering financial assistance to help trained youth to start their own ventures. He assured participants that the Department shall guide them to open their start-ups by providing forward-backward linkages with various financial institutions.
The participants also took a pledge and read the Preamble to commemorate Constitution Day.
District Programme Manager JKRLM Jugal Sharma concluded the event with vote of thanks. He urged the participants to avail benefit from such training programmes and briefed that this event is a step forward towards building a cluster at the District Level.
Asha Mahila Cluster Level Federation President Anita Kumari and other officials were also present.
