Rajouri Administration commemorates Shaheedi Diwas with patriotic fervour

RAJOURI, MARCH 23: District Administration Rajouri, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, today celebrated Shaheedi Diwas with great reverence, remembering the supreme sacrifices of the martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters and said that Shaheedi Diwas is a solemn reminder of the courage, patriotism and selfless devotion of the martyrs. He emphasized that their sacrifices continue to inspire generations to uphold the values of unity, integrity and nation-building. He urged the youth to draw inspiration from the lives of the martyrs and contribute meaningfully towards the progress of the nation.

As part of the week-long celebrations marking 150 years of the national song Vande Mataram, a series of activities were organised across the district. These programmes were held in different subdivisions including Kotranka, Nowshera, Rajouri, Kalakote, Sunderbani and Thanamandi under the supervision of the concerned ADCs and SDMs.

A wide range of events such as padyatras, cultural programmes, debates and awareness campaigns were conducted to instill patriotic values among the masses. All government departments, colleges including GDC Thanamandi, Rajouri, Kotranka, Nowshera, Doongi, Budhal, Sunderbani & Darhal and schools actively participated in these activities, reflecting enthusiastic public involvement.

ADC Rajouri, Chander Prakash, who is the Nodal Officer for the celebrations, coordinated the district-wide events and ensured their smooth and successful conduct.

The District Administration reiterated its commitment to preserving the legacy of the freedom fighters and promoting the spirit of patriotism among the people, especially the younger generation.
