GANDERBAL, AUGUST 18: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today chaired a meeting to review and finalize the arrangements for the upcoming Annual Gangabal Yatra.

At the outset, the DC took stock of the preparedness and finalized arrangements regarding lodging, sanitation, drinking water, firewood, toilet facilities, deployment of SDRF, and other essential requirements to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of the pilgrimage.

The DC directed the concerned departments to put all arrangements in place by or before 26th August, as the Yatra is scheduled to commence on August 30, 2025, from Naranag, with the advance party proceeding towards Gangabal on August 29.

The BMO Kangan was instructed to prepare a detailed deployment plan of doctors, along with adequate medicines, oxygen cylinders, and other essential medical equipment. The Executive Engineer KPDCL was directed to ensure proper electricity supply and availability of gensets at identified locations.

Similarly, the ACP Ganderbal was tasked to arrange mobile toilet facilities at prominent locations along the route.

With regard to drinking water facilities, the Jal Shakti Department informed that in addition to portable water supply, a sufficient number of water bottles will be kept available at locations where portable drinking water is not feasible.

SDM Kangan was asked to personally monitor all arrangements to ensure that the Yatra concludes smoothly and successfully.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Syed Fahim Bihaqi; SDM Kangan, and other concerned officers.
