UDHAMPUR, AUGUST 20: Thousands of devotees thronged the historic Sankri Devta mela on the second day to seek the blessings of Shri Sankri Devta amidst vibrant festivities at the Mela site.
Member Legislative Assembly Chenani Balwant Singh Mankotia; DDC Member Jasvir Singh; Mela Officer Tehsildar Panchari Vipan Kumar, former minister Ajay Sadhotra, along with several officers and prominent citizens were present and witnessed the colourful cultural programmes.
On the occasion, the Department of Youth Services and Sports Udhampur organized various sports activities, while local artists and students from different educational institutions presented scintillating cultural performances.
The District Administration Udhampur has made elaborate arrangements to ensure the smooth conduct of the Mela. Facilities such as uninterrupted power supply, safe drinking water, sanitation, medicare, Police Control Room, assistance booths and adequate security have been put in place.
Various government departments have set up informative stalls at the venue. A number of temporary sweet shops, toy stalls and food corners, set up by both local and outside vendors, attracted large crowds.
