RAMBAN, AUGUST 20: In a major step towards strengthening rural healthcare delivery, the District Administration Ramban, under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, is taking medical services to the doorsteps of people in remote and far-flung areas through the ongoing “Hospital on Wheels” initiative.
As part of this initiative “Hospital on Wheels”, a Mobile Medical Camp was organized today at Village Ind, Medical Block Gool to bridge the healthcare gap in inaccessible areas by providing timely treatment, free medicines, essential diagnostics and creating health awareness among the rural population.
A dedicated medical team, comprising doctors and paramedical staff, attended to over 160 patients, including 145 in General OPD and 21 in Dental consultations, besides conducting basic investigations such as blood sugar, anaemia and malaria testing. Screenings for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and Tuberculosis under NTEP were also carried out. Notably, 30 ABHA IDs were generated to promote digital health services under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM).
To further empower the community, awareness sessions were held on various health schemes and programmes including JK SEHAT, PMJAY, NTEP, E-Sanjeevani and ABDM initiatives. Villagers were also sensitized about adopting healthy lifestyle practices to prevent lifestyle-related ailments.
Such outreach programmes will continue across inaccessible areas to strengthen public health delivery and improve health outcomes. The camp was carried out under the supervision of the District Health Society Ramban.
