KATHUA, OCTOBER 08: In a major boost to diagnostic healthcare facilities in the district, a 128-Slice CT Scan Machine was today dedicated to the public at Government Medical College Kathua under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, a Government of India enterprise.

The state-of-the-art machine, costing ₹7 crore, will cater to nearly 12,000 patients annually, providing faster and more accurate diagnostic services to the people of Kathua and adjoining areas.

Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, lauded Power Grid Corporation for its generous contribution towards strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in the district.

While appreciating the initiative, the DC said that the installation of the advanced 128-slice CT Scan machine marks a significant step towards providing quality healthcare to the citizens. He emphasized that such collaborations between government institutions and public sector enterprises play a vital role in bridging critical infrastructure gaps and improving service delivery at the grassroots level.

The machine was handed over to the Principal Government Medical College Kathua Dr. Surinder Kumar Attri by Executive Director, NR-II Tarun Bajaj and Executive Director, CC-CSR, Power Grid Jasbir Singh, in the presence of faculty members and staff.

After the formal handing over, the Deputy Commissioner dedicated the facility to the public, marking its Commissioning.

The DC urged Power Grid to continue its association with the district through similar CSR initiatives in the areas of health, education, and public welfare, assuring full support from the District Administration in facilitating such developmental partnerships.
