RAMBAN, DECEMBER 10: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Ramban in coordination with Tehsil Legal Services Committee Ukhral, organized an awareness program to mark the World Human Rights Day.
The event focused on educating the public about fundamental rights, constitutional safeguards and the legal remedies available for protecting individual dignity and freedom. The program witnessed the presence of Panel Lawyers, Legal Aid Defense Counsels, Para Legal Volunteers and other officials of the DLSA.
The Resource Persons Advocate Balbir Singh Bali, Assistant LADC Rajinder Singh and other officials present highlighted the significance of this year’s theme, emphasizing that human rights are not merely legal provisions but essential principles that guide a just and humane society. He urged the participants to remain vigilant, informed and compassionate, stressing that “the true strength of a community lies in how it protects the rights of its most vulnerable members.” He also encouraged the public to make full use of the legal aid mechanisms available through DLSA and TLSCs to ensure that no individual is denied justice due to lack of awareness or resources.
The program served as a platform to foster meaningful discussion on the everyday challenges citizens face in exercising and defending their rights.
The DLSA Ramban emphasized the need for proactive legal awareness, highlighting that an informed community is better equipped to prevent rights violations and uphold justice. The authority further noted that consistent outreach efforts strengthen public confidence in legal aid institutions and reinforce the district’s commitment to human rights protection.
Similar programs were organized across other villages and towns of district Ramban by the respective Tehsil Legal Services Committees.
