KATHUA, DECEMBER 19: As part of the Good Governance Week being observed from December 19 to 25, 2025, opening day activities under the banner of ‘Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore’ were organised across various parts of district Kathua to strengthen public outreach, ensure grievance redressal and extend government services to the grassroots.
On the opening day, an outreach camp was organised at Marheen under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Vishavjeet Singh. During the camp, a range of public services were provided to the people, while awareness was generated about various departmental schemes. The facility for online registration of public grievances through the JK Samadhan portal was also extended, enabling citizens to register their grievances in a transparent and time-bound manner.
Similarly, a public outreach programme was also organised at Panchayat Mooni, Block Billawar, under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Billawar, Vinay Khosla. During the programme, public grievances were heard and the concerned officers were directed to ensure their timely redressal, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to people-centric governance.
As part of the implementation phase of the campaign, the Tehsil Administration organised a camp at Village Khokhyal, Tehsil Nagri. The camp focused on taking government services to the doorstep of the people and ensuring effective on-ground implementation of welfare schemes.
Another Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore camp was held at Khajjiar, Panchayat Chaloge in Duggan under the chairmanship of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Bani and was attended by Tehsildar Bani. Grievances of the people were listened to and several issues were resolved on the spot, besides providing revenue-related services.
In Basohli, the Naib Tehsildar Basohli conducted a Revenue Camp under the Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore initiative at PH Preta, Niabat and Tehsil Basohli, where revenue services were provided to the public.
Similarly, An outreach camp was organised at the Community Hall Loundi, which was presided over by Tehsildar Hiranagar, Anup Kumar.
During the camp, awareness was generated about various government welfare schemes, sanction letters under SMAS were distributed, pension cases were processed and domicile certificates were issued to eligible beneficiaries.
Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma, said that the district administration teams are reaching out to the people to listen to their difficulties and ensure their redressal, besides extending several public services to last-mile users. He added that the Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore initiative during Good Governance Week is another effort to make governance accessible, responsive and citizen-centric.
