RAMBAN, DECEMBER 30: The Employment Department Ramban, in collaboration with the office of the District Programme Manager NRLM organized a Sale-Cum Exhibition Mela to encourage Women Entrepreneur and Self Help Groups.

The programme was presided over by DDC Chairperson, Dr. Shamshad Shan in presence of Assistant Director Employment, Amit Kumar; District Programme Manager NRLM, Mohammad Yusaf Bhat; representatives from J&K Bank; officials from the Employment, Handicraft and Handloom Departments; Career Counselling Officer (CCO) Employment and a large number of SHG members.

The participants were apprised in detail about the schemes, initiatives and benefits available under Mission YUVA, a flagship initiative of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir aimed at empowering youth through skill development, entrepreneurship promotion and employment facilitation.

Addressing the gathering, the DDC Chairperson appreciated the Employment Department and J&K NRLM for organising such an informative and impactful event. She urged young women to avail maximum benefits of Mission YUVA schemes and adopt self-employment as a guiding principle for their economic growth. She also emphasized the crucial role of women in nation-building through innovation and entrepreneurship.

Later, the Chairperson inspected the stalls put up by SHG members and felicitated young women entrepreneurs. The programme concluded with an interactive session, during which queries and grievances were addressed on the spot. Notably, more than 150 women downloaded the Mission YUVA app and registered themselves at the event.

The Assistant Director Employment briefed the participants about the objectives and key components of Mission YUVA. “The mission YUVA schemes offer financial assistance, mentorship and skill-training to unemployed women, enabling them to become job creators rather than job seekers,”he highlighted.

Four young women entrepreneurs shared their success stories and motivated others to start their own livelihood ventures. The J&K Bank official briefed participants about banking procedures and required formalities, while the District Programme Manager NRLM Ramban encouraged SHG women to set up their own units, highlighting the immense potential and talent of women in the district.
