POONCH, MARCH 07: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting of the District Rent Assessment Committee (DRAC) to review rent assessment cases of government offices functioning in private rented accommodations.
During the meeting, the committee held detailed deliberations with concerned departments and private building owners regarding various rent assessment proposals. Out of the 13 cases taken up for consideration, 10 were approved, two were rejected, while one case was deferred for re-verification.
The cases pertained to several departments including Education, Revenue, Health, Ayush, Handloom, Handicraft, Agriculture, CDPO, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Animal and Sheep Husbandry and the Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM).
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of timely payment of rent to private building owners and highlighted the need to ensure proper safety and security measures for government offices operating from rented premises. He directed the concerned departments to strictly follow the prescribed guidelines and complete all necessary formalities without delay.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Sayeed, ACP Rakesh Sharma, officers from the Health, Education, Agriculture and Fire & Emergency departments, Executive Engineers, District Sheep Husbandry Officer (DSHO), along with other departmental representatives. Private building owners also participated in the deliberations.
