Major traffic enforcement drive conducted in Rajouri: Over 20 E-Autos seized
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegram

RAJOURI, APRIL 08: In a significant move to check traffic violations and enhance passenger safety, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Rajouri, in coordination with the Jammu & Kashmir Police, today carried out a joint naka near District Police Lines. The operation resulted in the challaning and seizure of more than 20 e-autos for various violations.

The drive was conducted under the supervision of ARTO Rajesh Gupta with the active involvement of the SHO and teams from both the Police and Motor Vehicle Department, including inspectors and sub-inspectors.

During the enforcement drive, action was taken against e-auto operators found plying without valid documents, driving without licenses and operating outside their authorized routes. Several vehicles entering Rajouri from other tehsils and operating unlawfully were also seized.

The teams also acted against e-autos fitted with additional seating and unauthorized sound systems, which were found to be in violation of transport regulations.

Officials noted that such illegal practices not only contravene the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act but also endanger passenger safety and contribute to traffic congestion in the town.

While interacting with media persons, the ARTO stated that the department has been consistently receiving complaints regarding unauthorized operations of e-autos, particularly those arriving from outside tehsils. He emphasized that strict enforcement will continue in the coming days to ensure compliance with traffic norms and to facilitate safe and orderly movement of traffic.

The authorities cautioned all e-auto operators to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations, warning that any violation will invite stringent legal action.
