POONCH, APRIL 25: District Development Commissioner Poonch Ashok Kumar Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) in the district.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Agriculture Officer, Jograj Salathia; Chief Horticulture Officer, Uttam Lal, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer; District Sheep Husbandry Officer; Deputy Director Sericulture Poonch; Assistant Grading & Marketing Officer; Assistant Director Fisheries; Assistant Director Floriculture and other concerned officers.
The meeting aimed to strengthen coordination among agriculture and allied sectors and ensure timely implementation of key government initiatives for the benefit of farmers.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the progress of various schemes under HADP. The District Development Commissioner reviewed targets, achievements and existing gaps. He directed the concerned officers to intensify efforts to bridge gaps and ensure maximum coverage of eligible farmers.
Earlier, officers presented updates on progress and future plans of their respective departments. They highlighted efforts towards increasing agricultural productivity, strengthening value addition chains, promoting allied sectors such as fisheries, floriculture and sericulture and enhancing farmer outreach.
The District Development Commissioner emphasized the importance of inter-departmental coordination, regular field monitoring and active farmer engagement to achieve sustainable and holistic agricultural development. He urged all departments to work in close coordination to ensure effective implementation of the programme across the district.
