RAMBAN, APRIL 25: As part of the ongoing 100-day Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir campaign against drug abuse, the District and Police Administration Ramban, in collaboration with locals, today organized an awareness programme-cum-cultural event titled ‘Pogli Milan’ at Government High School Ramsoo.

Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan and Senior Superintendent of Police Arun Gupta led the initiative to reaffirm commitment to building a drug-free society. The event witnessed the presence of local SDM Sayed Mazahir Hussain Shah, Tehsildar Nasir Javid and other officers and prominent citizens.

A drug-free India pledge was administered to all participants, including students, community members, and dignitaries. Addressing the gathering, officials highlighted the disastrous effect of drug addiction. They stressed the importance of collective and sustained efforts to protect the youth from falling prey to substance abuse.

The Deputy Commissioner urged parents, teachers and community leaders to stay vigilant and actively engage in awareness initiatives. He emphasized that a united societal approach is essential to effectively combat drug abuse.

The SSP underscored the importance of strong police–community partnerships in curbing drug trafficking and ensuring a safe and healthy social environment.

Adding an engaging dimension to the programme, different competitions on the theme “Nasha Mukt Bharat” were organized on the occasion. The students from adjoining schools participated enthusiastically, expressing their perspectives through art and words.

The awareness programme was complemented by a vibrant cultural bonanza presented by local artists, showcasing traditional dance, music and poetry, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the Pogal–Paristan region. Students also delivered captivating performances, infusing the event with energy and enthusiasm.

The event concluded with the felicitation of artists and performers by the dignitaries, recognizing their valuable contributions to spreading the message of a drug-free society.
