REASI, MAY 02: Under the visionary leadership of Khalil Choudhary, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Reasi (also Pr. District and Sessions Judge) and the able guidance of Pooja Gupta, Secretary, awareness programme on Drug Abuse was organized today at Reaasi and the Court Complex Mahore. The programme was conducted by the PLVs from TLSC and DLSA.

The PLVs highlighted the physical, mental and social consequences of substance abuse. They also informed the participants about the legal provisions related to drug related offences and the availability of free legal aid services for needy individuals.

Emphasis was laid on community participation in eradicating the menace of drugs and encouraging individuals to seek help and rehabilitation. The participants appreciated the efforts of the Legal Services Authorities in spreading awareness on such a crucial issue and urged for more such programmes in the future
Meanwhile, an awareness programme to encourage dispute resolution through National Lok Adalat was organized at Neoch-Dewal and several other places of Tehsil Mahore by PLVs.

The Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) interacted with the local residents and spread awareness regarding the significance and benefits of National Lok Adalat.

The PLVs also educated the public about the types of cases that can be taken up in Lok Adalat, including matrimonial disputes, motor accident claims, bank recovery cases and other civil matters.
Emphasis was laid on the fact that decisions taken in Lok Adalats are final and binding, with no appeal, thus saving time and resources for the litigants.
