JKAACL organizes Literary cum Cultural Programme at Keran to promote Pahari Art, Culture & Languages

SRINAGAR, MAY 16: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organized a one-day Literary cum Cultural Programme at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Keran.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, writers, poets, artists and members of the local community, reflecting the rich literary and cultural heritage of the border area.

Various literary presentations, poetry recitations and colourful cultural performances added vibrancy and enthusiasm to the event.

The programme was organized in line with the mandate of JKAACL to preserve, promote and develop the diverse languages, literature, art and cultural traditions of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in remote and border areas.

The Academy continues to provide a vibrant platform for writers, artists and young talent to showcase their creative abilities and strengthen cultural identity among the younger generation.

In his welcome address, Additional Secretary, JKAACL, Lal Chand dwelt in detail on the activities of the Academy and various schemes being carried out for the preservation, promotion and development of languages, literature and culture across Jammu and Kashmir.

Special Secretary, IT, Dr. Abdul Hafiz Shah graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and appreciated the efforts of JKAACL in promoting literature, art, culture and linguistic diversity in the border area of Keran. He encouraged the youth to actively participate in literary and cultural activities for preservation of their heritage and traditions.

Dr. Shah stated that cultural and literary programmes play an important role in strengthening social harmony and preserving the unique identity of different communities. He emphasized that the younger generation must remain connected with their mother tongues and traditional values to safeguard the rich heritage of the region.

He also appreciated the people of Keran for their keen interest in literature and culture despite living in a far-flung border area.

Prominent writers, poets, artists, teachers and students participated in the programme and appreciated the initiative of the Academy in organizing such events in border areas.
