KULGAM, JUNE 18: In connection with the upcoming International Yoga Day, the additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kulgam, Vikar Ahmad Giri chaired a meeting to review and finalize the arrangements for the district-level celebration of International Yoga Day to be observed on June 21.
During the meeting, the ADC directed all concerned officers to ensure comprehensive arrangements for the smooth and successful conduct of the event across the district. Stressing the importance of Yoga in promoting physical, mental and emotional well-being, the ADC emphasised the need for maximum public participation and awareness. He directed that International Yoga Day will be celebrated at Tehsill/ Block headquarters and in all Government and Private Schools, Colleges, all Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across Kulgam district to ensure the message of healthy living reaches every section of society.
The ADC further instructed Nodal officer Ayush to actively coordinate and supervise Yoga Day celebrations at respective Tehsil/ block headquarters in collaboration with line departments, educational institutions and local stakeholders to ensure enthusiastic participation at the grassroots level.
The meeting reviewed arrangements relating to sanitation, drinking water, seating, medical aid, security, transportation, logistics, publicity and other essential facilities.
The district-level celebration on June 21 will witness participation from government officers/officials, students, NCC, civil society members, healthcare workers, Yoga enthusiasts and members of the general public, collectively promoting the message of fitness, wellness and a healthy lifestyle.
The ADC urged all departments to work in close coordination to ensure flawless arrangements and make International Yoga Day celebrations a grand success throughout Kulgam district.
The meeting was attented by Additional SP, ACR, Tehsildar’s, Executive Engineer PW (R&B), District Nodal Officer Ayush, BDOs and other officers.
