District Admin Bandipora issues Traffic Advisory for 12th Muharram; Announces Diversions on Srinagar-Sumbal-Bandipora Road

BANDIPORA, JUNE 27: District Administration Bandipora has issued a traffic advisory in view of the Muharram procession scheduled to be taken out from Dangerpora to Shahtulpora on 12th Muharram (June 28, 2026).

According to the advisory, the movement of vehicular traffic along the Srinagar-Sumbal-Bandipora Road shall remain affected from 12:30 PM to 10:00 PM. The general public has been advised to avoid unnecessary travel on the said road stretch during the notified period.

To ensure smooth traffic management during the procession, the following diversions and re-routing plan shall remain in force: Gurez-Bandipora-bound traffic from Srinagar shall be allowed via Sopore–Bandipora–Gurez Road. Likewise, Srinagar-bound traffic from Gurez-Bandipora shall be diverted at Chewa-Safapora via Ganderbal towards Srinagar.

Similarly, traffic from Sumbal towards Srinagar shall be diverted via Naidkhai–Hamray–Narbal–Srinagar. Traffic from Srinagar towards Sumbal shall be routed via Takanwari through Shadipora Bridge towards Sumbal.
Furthermore, Dangerpora–Shahtulpora road stretch shall remain a complete No-Ply Zone during the procession.

The District Administration appeals to commuters to cooperate with the traffic arrangements, adhere to the advisory, and plan their travel accordingly to ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Muharram procession.
