RAMBAN, JULY 02: The Department of Animal Husbandry Ramban today launched the eighth round of the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) Vaccination Campaign under the National Animal Disease Control Programme (NADCP), aimed at eradicating Foot and Mouth Disease by 2030.

The campaign was inaugurated by Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Ramban Dr Rajesh Arora, along with the Disease Investigation Officer Ramban, in the presence of the Medical Veterinary Officer (MVO), Technical Officer, veterinary doctors and para-veterinary staff.

The district-wide campaign will continue for the next two months, covering all eligible livestock. The department has sensitised and mobilised field staff across the district to ensure effective implementation.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Animal Husbandry Officer said the vaccination drive would prevent Foot and Mouth Disease, safeguard livestock health and improve productivity in the animal husbandry sector. He appealed to livestock owners to extend full cooperation to field staff and ensure all eligible animals are vaccinated during the campaign.
