SHOPIAN, AUGUST 04: Social Welfare Department (SWD), Shopian, today organized a Digital and Financial Literacy Awareness Programme for senior citizens at Chowan, Keller under the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY) – the National Action Plan for Senior Citizens.
The programme aimed to enhance digital inclusion and financial awareness among elderly citizens by equipping them with essential digital skills and promoting the safe use of online services.
During the session, officials and field functionaries demonstrated the operation of smartphones, access to online government services, and the secure use of digital banking platforms.
Participants were also sensitized about cyber fraud, online scams, and precautionary measures to safeguard themselves against financial fraud.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from senior citizens.
