BARAMULLA, AUGUST 10: District Administration Baramulla today organised a vibrant programme at the Auditorium of GDC Boys’ Baramulla to commemorate 150 years of Vande Mataram and celebrate the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign being observed across the country from August 9 to 17.
The programme was chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, S.F. Hamid, and was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Pranjal J. Hazarika, Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Syed Altaf Hussain Musvi, Principal GDC Boys’ Baramulla, senior district officers, faculty members and students of the College, besides other participants.
The programme featured a series of cultural events including patriotic songs, skits and speeches, highlighting and paying homage to the sacrifices of the freedom fighters, the values of unity and national integratian.
On the occasion, District Information Office Baramulla screened a short documentary film highlighting the historical evolution and emotional resonance of Vande Mataram, evoking a deep sense of patriotism among the attendees.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner underscored that the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, being observed from August 9 to 17, should not be viewed merely as an exercise of hoisting the National Flag, but as an opportunity for every citizen to understand the deeper purpose and values associated with the Tricolour.
He emphasised that the campaign should encourage people, particularly the youth, to reflect on how each individual can contribute towards making the nation better by contributing constructively to society.
The DC further highlighted the profound significance of Vande Mataram, describing it as a powerful symbol of our freedom struggle and a source of inspiration that continues to evoke a deep sense of patriotism among generations.
The DC also underscored the importance of various national initiatives towards betterment of society and urged youth to register on My Bharat Portal.
