JAMMU, AUGUST 15: Government departments and educational institutions across Jammu division celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour. The celebrations included ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag and other related events.
DIPR: The Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour at its Rail Head Complex office Jammu.
The celebrations commenced with the rendition of National Song ‘Vande Mataram’. Joint Director Information Jammu Deepak Dubey hoisted the National Flag, which was followed by the rendition of the National Anthem by all officers and officials.
The Joint Director extended warm Independence Day greetings to all officers and officials and called for upholding the spirit of unity, integrity and dedication towards the nation.
Deputy Director (PR) Moksha Dogra; Deputy Director (Hq) Ashu Kumari, Cultural Officer Rajinder Kumar Dingra, Administrative Officer Renu Sharma along with other officers and officials of the department were present on the occasion.
High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh (Jammu Wing): The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with immense patriotic zeal, dignity and solemnity at the Jammu Wing of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, today.
The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Justice Sindhu Sharma, followed by the National Salute and guard of honour presented by the CISF contingent. The rendition of the National Anthem infused the atmosphere with pride, unity and reverence for the nation. Thereafter, the Police Band of District Police, Jammu, presented a captivating performance of patriotic melodies, adding gaiety to the occasion.
The function was graced by the august presence of Justice Rajnesh Oswal, Justice Mohd. Akram Chowdhary, Justice Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Justice Rajesh Sekhri, Justice Sanjay Parihar and spouses of Judges.
The programme was attended by Officers and staff members of the Registry, Judicial Officers, Senior Advocates, President, J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu; Members of the Executive Committee of Bar, Advocates, Panel Lawyers and other invitees.
District legal Services Authority Jammu: DLSA Jammu in collaboration with District Judiciary Jammu celebrated the 80th Independence Day at the District Court Complex Janipur. The programme was held under the guidance of Ravinder Nath Watal, Principal District and Sessions Judge/Chairman, DLSA Jammu and supervision of Maleeka Sharma, Civil Judge (Sr. Div.) / Secretary, DLSA Jammu.
The event was attended by all the Judicial Officers, Court staff, LADCs, Panel Lawyers, staff and PLVs of DLSA Jammu. The trainee Judges who are currently undergoing training in District Court Jammu also participated in the celebration.
The programme commenced with hoisting of the National Flag by Principal District and Sessions Judge/Chairman, DLSA Jammu, Ravinder Nath Watal, followed by the playing of the National Anthem.
Thereafter, sweets and refreshment boxes were distributed to the Band members and Police personnel by the Ld. Judicial Officers as a token of appreciation.
Similar celebrations were held at TLSC Bishnah, Akhnoor and RS Pura.
District Court Doda: The District Court Doda celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.
The celebrations commenced with the rendition of Vande Mataram, followed by the hoisting of the National Flag by Additional District & Sessions Judge Archana Charak, in the presence of Judges, lawyers, court staff and other attendees.
Addressing the gathering, the Additional District & Sessions Judge highlighted the significance of Independence Day and recalled the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters during the struggle for India’s independence. She stressed the importance of upholding the values of justice, equality, liberty and constitutionalism in the discharge of duties and in public life.
The legal fraternity also shared their thoughts on the occasion. Senior Advocates highlighted the invaluable contributions and sacrifices of the freedom fighters and emphasised the importance of preserving the ideals for which they fought.
Members of the legal fraternity also presented patriotic songs, adding to the patriotic fervour and creating an atmosphere of national pride and unity.
A cultural performance was also performed by the Students of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir School.
District Court Udhampur: The 80th Independence Day of India was today celebrated with great fervour and patriotic spirit at the District Court Udhampur. The National Flag was hoisted by Kalpana Revo, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority (Principal District & Sessions Judge), Udhampur.
A police contingent performed the ceremonial Guard of Honour and rendered a formal salute to the Principal District & Sessions Judge as the Tricolour was hoisted. Their disciplined participation added dignity and solemnity to the celebrations.
Students of Common Public School, Udhampur, also participated enthusiastically, adding a youthful spirit to the occasion and highlighting the importance of nurturing patriotism and constitutional values among the younger generation.
The programme was attended by Judicial Officers, the Bar President and members of the Bar Association, Udhampur, Public Prosecution Officers, Court Staff, Panel Lawyers, Legal Aid Defence Counsels (LADCs) and Para Legal Volunteers of District Udhampur. The gathering reflected the collective commitment of the legal fraternity towards justice, constitutional values and nation-building.

DLSA Samba: District Legal Services Authority Samba, under the guidance and overall supervision of Ashwani Kumar Sharma, the Chairman (Principal District & Sessions Judge Samba), celebrated the 80th Independence Day under the theme “Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat@2047.” The National Flag was hoisted by the DLSA Chairman Ashwani Kumar Sharma followed by the National Anthem.
On the occasion, the dignitary extended warm greetings to all present and highlighted the significance of Independence Day and the values of freedom, unity, democracy and constitutional responsibility.

DLSA Reasi: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Reasi, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at the Court Complex.
The programme commenced with the arrival of participants, followed by flag hoisting and Guard of Honour. The National Anthem was thereafter sung, filling the atmosphere with a deep sense of patriotism and national pride.
The celebration was graced by the presence of Principal District & Sessions Judge, Khalil Choudhary (Chief Guest) along with Geeta Kumari, CJM; Pooja Gupta, Secretary DLSA Reasi; Shivali Sharma, Munsiff Reasi; Aastha Sharma, Addl Spl. The celebrations included a welcome address presented by Secretary DLSA Reasi, followed by a patriotic song presented by the students of the Legal Literacy Club. The President, Bar Association Reasi, also addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of Independence Day and the values of freedom, justice and constitutionalism.
The Chief Guest, in his address, emphasized the importance of preserving the values for which the nation attained independence and reaffirmed the role of the judiciary and legal services institutions in ensuring access to justice, equality before law and protection of constitutional rights.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, wherein gratitude was expressed to the Chief Guest, Judicial Officers, members of the Bar, staff, students, PLVs and all participants for their valuable contribution to the successful conduct of the Independence Day celebration by Adv. District Court Complex Kathua: As per the directions of the High Court of UT of J&K and Ladakh, 80th Independence Day was celebrated in District Court Complex (Head Quarter) Kathua with full zeal & enthusiasm.
The event commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Principal District & Sessions Judge Kathua (also Chairman District Legal Services Authority Kathua) Jatinder Singh Jamwal, which was followed by reciting of the National Anthem by the gathering.
Beside this, a cultural program was organized by District Legal Services Authority Kathua in collaboration with Department of Education, Kathua.

District Court Rajouri: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Rajouri celebrated 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour here at the District Court Complex. The event was held under the supervision of Rajender Sapru, Chairman, DLSA Rajouri.
The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag by Rajender Sapru, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Rajouri, at 08:05 AM, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. The ceremony was attended by all Judicial Officers posted at District Headquarters, Rajouri, members of the Bar Association, court and DLSA staff, Panel Lawyers, Legal Aid Defense Counsels (LADCs) and Para-Legal Volunteers (PLVs).
In his address, Rajender Sapru, Principal District & Sessions Judge, Rajouri, spoke about the significance of Independence Day and emphasized the importance of upholding the values of Justice, Liberty and Equality in our daily lives. He highlighted the vital role of the judiciary in safeguarding these constitutional principles and urged everyone to contribute towards the nation-building process.
Earlier, the opening remarks were delivered Ms. Shavika Gupta, Munsiff/JMIC, Rajouri, who highlighted the importance of unity in diversity and the need to uphold the ideals and values for which our great freedom fighters made immense sacrifices.
Gifts were presented to girls who participated in the cultural events, encouraging their talent, confidence and overall development.
Appreciation certificates were presented to the Para-Legal Volunteers (PLVs) in recognition of their immediate relief and legal assistance during the flash floods of 18–19 July 2026. Through the Kindness Booth, assistance was provided to displaced families by facilitating access to food, drinking water, blankets, medicines, sanitary napkins, milk and other essential relief materials.
The programme concluded with the distribution of sweets among the attendees, symbolizing the joy, unity and spirit of Independence Day. The cultural events further added colour and enthusiasm to the celebrations.
The event concluded on a note of patriotism, unity and commitment towards serving the community and upholding the ideals of the Constitution.
Directorate of Health Services Jammu: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated by the Directorate of Health Services Jammu with great patriotic fervour.
Director Health Services Jammu, Dr. Poonam Sethi hoisted the National Flag in the presence of officers, doctors, paramedical staff and other employees of the Directorate. The National Anthem was sung with patriotic spirit, followed by a solemn tribute to the freedom fighters and national heroes whose sacrifices secured India’s independence.
EPFO Jammu: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Jammu, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at its office premises. The celebrations included the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem and an address highlighting the values of freedom, unity, integrity and dedicated public service.
On the occasion, employees were felicitated for their commendable performance and contribution to improving service delivery.
DAJ: The Department of Agriculture Jammu celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm at the Directorate of Agriculture, Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo.
Director of Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare Anil Gupt hoisted the National Flag in the presence of officers, sectoral heads and staff of the department.
The celebrations were held under the theme “Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat@2047”, with a special focus on commemorating the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram. The occasion reaffirmed the collective resolve towards building a prosperous, secure and progressive Naya Bharat.
Directorate of Horticulture Jammu: The Directorate of Horticulture, Jammu celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and a deep sense of national pride.
The celebrations were held at the Directorate premises, where the National Flag was hoisted by the Director Horticulture Jammu Gul Syed in the presence of senior officers and officials of the Horticulture Department.

Central Jail Kotbhalwal Jammu: The 80th Independence Day was celebrated today at Central Jail Jammu, Kotbhalwal with great joy and enthusiasm. Celebration started with singing of National Song “Vande Mataram” and the hoisting of National Flag by Chhabil Singh Superintendent Central Jail Jammu, Kotbhalwal who also spoke on the importance of the Independence Day.
Officers/officials of Jail and CISF were present on the occasion. A colorful cultural programme was presented by inmates and staff.
GDC Ramkote: Government Degree College Ramkote celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, patriotism and a strong spirit of national unity.

Government Polytechnic College Reasi: Government Polytechnic College Reasi today celebrated 80th Independence Day with great joy, fervour and enthusiasm.
The Principal of the college Dr. Arun Bangotra hoisted the National Flag along with Superintendent ITI Reasi Er. Rajesh Banotra. All the staff, students of the college took part in the Independence Day celebration.
