SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 16: The Inter-District Divisional Level Wushu Competition for Under-17 and Under-19 Boys commenced today at the Indoor Stadium Samba, with the participation of young athletes from various districts of the Jammu Division.
The Under-17 Boys Wushu Competition was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan.
DYSSO Sunil Singh, along with his staff, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest and other guests on the occasion. Chief Education Officer Yash Paul Sharma, along with other officials, was also present.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation of 38 players from seven districts of the Jammu Division, accompanied by eight officials. The young athletes showcased their talent, technical skills, discipline and sporting spirit during the event.
Interacting with the participating players, Deputy Commissioner Ayushi Sudan encouraged them to remain dedicated to sports, maintain discipline and adopt a healthy and positive lifestyle. She also urged the young players to stay away from drugs and make sports an integral part of their lives.
On the occasion, a pledge was administered to the participants to promote awareness against drug abuse and encourage the youth to contribute towards building a healthy and drug-free society.
The event provided a platform for young Wushu players to demonstrate their sporting abilities while promoting the values of discipline, fitness, teamwork and healthy competition.
