BUDGAM, SEPTEMBER 28: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, Along with Director Kashmir Campus, Dr Guneet Singh today undertook a detailed inspection of the Kashmir Campus of the University of Jammu at Rakh Aarath, Bemina, to take stock of the latest progress on various infrastructure works and assess the readiness of the campus for operationalisation.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the status of major components of the campus infrastructure and interacted with the officers and executing agencies regarding the pace of work, pending activities and issues requiring immediate attention.
The Deputy Commissioner called for a coordinated and result-oriented approach by all concerned agencies, directing them to remove bottlenecks and ensure uninterrupted execution of the remaining works. He stressed that field-level monitoring and regular coordination among departments must be maintained to achieve the desired progress within the set timelines.
Particular attention was given to essential services required for making the campus operational. The Deputy Commissioner reviewed the status of power connectivity and directed the concerned agency to complete the pending work associated with the HT line on priority.
The status of water supply arrangements was also reviewed, with directions to the PHE authorities to take necessary measures for providing water connectivity to the campus at the earliest.
The DC further assessed the progress of the approach road and other site-development works, directing the concerned executing agency to accelerate construction and ensure proper accessibility to the campus.
He also inspected the boundary wall, protective fencing and prefabricated facilities established at the site and directed that the remaining works be taken up in a systematic manner while adhering strictly to prescribed quality specifications.
Emphasising the importance of the project for strengthening higher-education infrastructure in the district, the Deputy Commissioner directed all stakeholders to maintain close coordination and submit regular progress updates so that outstanding works are completed expeditiously.
He reiterated that the administration would continue to monitor the progress of the campus works closely and facilitate resolution of issues requiring inter-departmental intervention.
Senior officers and representatives of the University of Jammu, Joint Director Planning Budgam, Tehsildar Budgam, Executive Engineers from R&B, PHE and PDD and other concerned departments accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the inspection.
