SHOPIAN, OCTOBER 17: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Shopian organised a Special Lok Adalat for cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, under the guidance and supervision of Chairman DLSA Shopian, Mehmood Ahmad Chowdhary, and Secretary DLSA Shopian, Mudasar Farooq.
One bench was constituted for the Lok Adalat, presided over by Munsiff/JMIC Shopian, Mohd Waseem Mirza, and Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Rameen Rashid Khan.
A total of 10 cases were taken up, out of which 4 cases were amicably settled, involving a total settlement amount of Rs17,30,000.
The initiative reflects DLSA Shopian’s continued commitment to promoting amicable dispute resolution, reducing litigation, and ensuring speedy and accessible justice through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
