JAMMU, OCTOBER 29: A Special Lok Adalat on MACT cases was organized today here at District Court Complex Jammu under the able guidance of Principal District & Sessions Judge (Chairman DLSA) Tahir Khurshid Raina and under the supervision of Civil Judge (Senior Division)- Secretary DLSA Maleeka Sharma.
Two Benches were constituted for hearing the cases. The First Bench comprised of Presiding Officer Motor Accident Claims Tribunal Khem Raj and Panel Lawyer Gurdeep Singh Gill, while the Second Bench comprised of Presiding Officer, Additional Sessions Judge, Anti-Corruption Cases, Jammu (MACT Cases) Rajni Sharma and Panel Lawyer Deepali Arora.
A total of 16 MACT cases were taken up, of which 09 cases were disposed of amicably with the mutual consent of the parties. A total compensation amount of Rs. 64,00,000/- (Rupees Sixty Four Lakh Rupees only) was awarded to the claimants.
