Pakistan Fall Inevitable

The crises that have engulfed Sri Lanka are nearly ready to be replicated in Pakistan, which is now plunging deep into a political and economic tangle. The ATMs are without cash and there has been a steep increase in the fuel prices, while the Government seems clueless on how to get the country out of the situation which can result in Sri Lanka-like upheaval and mass uprising. The point that needs to be noted here is that Pakistan’s consultations with the IMF have also failed as the leadership has not been able to reach any common grounds after financial assistance was sought from the global agency.

What is interesting here to note is that the Imran Khan-led government was shown the exit door after the opposition made various grounds for the same, even though the economic and political situation were the prime reasons. While the joint opposition did that, it was expected that they would have a solution for the issue, as they claimed to change things overnight, however, the situation does not seem to be changing at all. While the overall political, as well as economic landscape, is now nose-diving.

The present dispensation in Pakistan does not seem to be having a solution to the issue and they have been left with no option but to seek the necessary assistance from the western countries. The same should not be seen as a dividend; rather the same is going to be the death of the sovereignty of the country which was secured after a lot of sacrifices made by the PTI-led government.

The help from other countries is what turned out to be a major setback for Sri Lanka which kept getting the financial assistance from China and in the end turned out to be not in a position to pay the same back. Let alone paying the debt back, the country literally has got no money to run the country, while there is a total civil war going on. Pakistan is already struggling with a lot of internal as well as external issues and if its economy crumbled, then may God be with the people of Pakistan.

If the establishment, as well as the judiciary in Pakistan, has been interfering in the political matters of the country, why aren’t they coming forward to pull the political leadership up, taking measures themselves to set the affairs in order? If the Supreme Court of Pakistan can open at midnight when the no-confidence motion was in progress in Pakistan’s National Assembly, what is stopping it from acting now and declaring the present Government unqualified, and unable to run the country? The judiciary as well as the establishment in Pakistan should not wait till the matters in the country go out of control, and if that happens, it will be left to deal with a bigger challenge which will be impossible to handle for a country like Pakistan.
