Gangsters-Narco-Terror Nexus

NIA now needs to expedite the entire process, identify the kingpin, book them, and put them behind bars. Such people deserve the gallows and that’s where they should be sent.

The time has come for dismantling the gangster-narco-terror nexus and drug syndicates operational in the country as well as in other countries like Pakistan, Malaysia, Canada, and even Australia by people who have fled India. Keeping in view the large-scale raids conducted across 50 sites in Delhi, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan simultaneously, this time around, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) seems to be having solid leads about these syndicates and the structure of the gangster-narco-terror nexus and has started with the process of uncovering it.

What is interesting to note here is that the raids also involve the gangsters involved in the brutal murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala and the direction in which the probe is on, the turn of the event ahead is all set to uncover so much which has so far remained a dark mystery. There is no doubt that these gangsters who are running these narco-terror modules in India, in sync with those overseas, are raising funds by target killings and dealing with drugs and are even using cyberspace to threaten businessmen and other professionals by publicizing sensational crimes.

By creating fear among people, they are involved not only in extortion but other unlawful acts also through which they are raising the funds which could very well be in use for spreading terror in various other sensitive areas of the country because there have already been several instances where it has already come to the fore how the agencies across the border have been using these people to spread instability in India through several ways and means.

While the new probe, which has been started after the re-registration of two gangster-related cases, filed by the Delhi Police under the UAPA on August 26, is just in the offing and has seemingly given a different direction to the case, the NIA would sure look into all the possible angles behind the aim and functioning of these drug syndicates and gangster-narco-terror nexus, because it could very well be working in a different direction which the authorities need to look into thoroughly and ensure to plug the key loose-ends so that those involved are brought to book swiftly, leading to the dismantling of operational terror-crime networks.

At the same time, for those who are wanted in such activities and are pulling the strings from overseas, the authorities should also set in motion the process of getting those people back to India to seize their assets in India as well as in the countries they are living in. The ongoing probe has already shown it all, their involvement, their role, and their modus operandi—which also shows how dangerous these people are for a country like India. NIA now needs to expedite the entire process, identify the kingpin, book them, and put them behind bars. Such people deserve the gallows and that’s where they should be sent.
