Bandipora, Sepetember 21: The Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Thursday inaugurated two day mega book fair organised by International Delhi Public School Bandipora in collaboration with district administration Bandipora and education department Bandipora.
The Deputy Commissioner on the occasion was warmly welcomed by the students and other participants.
The Deputy Commissioner on the occasion formally inaugurated the event in presence, JD Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, President Private Schools Association, Principal GDC Bandipora, Senior citizens of the district besides youth of Bandipora. A galaxy of students from different educational institutions across the district attended the event.
The Deputy Commissioner on the occasion inspected different stalls including book and stationery stalls. The DC was informed that the fair will continue over a period of two days during which a wide range of books will be kept available physically, in different stalls, to the participants.
Addressing students, the DC on the occasion said that in addition to online book reading, offline book reading mode serves its own importance. He advised students to gain knowledge as much as they can.
The DC urged them to not waste time in futile pursuits like excessive improper usage internet and other times wasting platforms. The DC wished best of luck to the students for their future.
A series of cultural events, depicting rich culture heritage of Kashmiri tradition, were performed on the occasion.
Students while speaking on the occasion thanked district administration and IDPS Bandipora for organising such events which help them boost knowledge about the world.
