JAMMU, FEBRUARY 22: A training cum awareness programme of School Management committees (SMC’s), School Management and Development Committees (SMDC’s), Village Education Committee (VEC) and PRI members today organized under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha by the Zonal Education Office, Marh here at Govt High School Gho Manhasna, Zone Marh.
Community members were acquainted with the roles and responsibilities of SMC/SMDC’s/ VEC’s and PRI Members in the development of Govt. Schools.
They were requested to come forward and revive the Education system for the future of children of their locality. They were also made aware about Govt. schemes like MDM programme. Free text books, free uniform for classes 1st to 8th, scholarship schemes for SC/ST/OBC/ disable students and national Means cum Merit scholarship (NMMS) for 8th class only. Community members were also urged to promote the enrollment by encouraging the general public to send their children to Govt. Schools to get quality education by highly qualified teachers and to avail a string of facilities. Speakers from different school committees gave their valuable suggestion for the welfare of students and upliftment the education system.
The vote of thanks was presented by Zonal Education Officer, Marh Kasturi Lal Kaith and others who spoke on the occasion included Renuka Nagpal Principal HSS Gho Manhasna (Cluster Head) and SMC members of different schools MS/PS.
