Srinagar, Apr 19 : Amidst the continued rescue operation to retrieve the bodies of a missing father-son duo and a minor student, special prayers were held on Friday across the Kashmir Valley in hopes of retrieving the bodies from river Jhelum.
Pertinently, six persons died while three locals went missing after a boat capsized in river Jhelum at Gandbal area of Batwara on April 16.
As per the details available with the news agency, the rescue operation for the missing individuals, Showkat Ahmad, his son Haziq Showkat, along with Farhan Parray, entered its fifth day.
Despite relentless efforts from rescue agencies and local volunteers, the bodies remain untraced, while special prayers were organized across the Kashmir Valley in hopes of retrieving the dead bodies.
“From South to North Kashmir, the valley stands with Gandbal victims, and we are praying to Almighty Allah for the retrieval of the missing body,” said Mohammad Umer, a local from Gandbal, Srinagar.
He added that they remember the deceased and the missing in their prayers, and would like to request everyone to remember the victims and pray for the retrieval of the missing persons.
