UDHAMPUR, JUNE 15: District Development Council (DDC) Chairman Udhampur, Lal Chand, convened a meeting of all Block Development Officers (BDOs) to review various schemes of Rural Development Department (RDD) and to formulate both the Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI) and Block Development Council (BDC) plans for 2024-25. The meeting was held in DDC office Udhampur.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Rajinder Singh, ACD Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal, all DDCs, and BDOs. During the meeting, the DDCs shared their valuable suggestions regarding the formulation of the District Capex budget for 2024-25.

The DDC Chairman directed the concerned officers to take appropriate precautions and he instructed BDOs to inspect the feasibility of the works proposed for inclusion in the plan. He emphasized the need for DDCs to maintain close coordination with officers and to propose only feasible developmental works in accordance with scheme norms.

Furthermore, he directed the BDOs to prioritize community benefit works with potential inter-block or inter-panchayat coverage, based on area requirements. The Chairman stressed that the outcomes must benefit the general public and avoid works that cater to individual benefits.
