DC Jammu reviews Independence Day preparations

JAMMU, JULY 15: Deputy Commissioner, Sachin Kumar Vaishya chaired a meeting today to assess the arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations in the district.

The meeting brought together senior officers including the Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Rahul Yadav, SSP Traffic Faisal Qureshi, ADC Ansuya Jamwal, Sub Divisional Magistrates, Executive Engineers and officers from the Police and other departments to ensure a seamless and memorable event.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need for foolproof security arrangements for the national event. Officers from the Police Department provided updates on their preparations and traffic regulation plans were reviewed to ensure smooth flow during the celebrations.

Infrastructure and facilities were another focal point of the meeting. The Jammu Municipal Corporation was directed to provide adequate seating arrangements and barricading at the venue. The Jal Shakti Department was tasked with ensuring the availability of drinking water. Additionally, the Power Development Department and Jal Shakti Department were instructed to manage power and water supply, including the provision of water tankers.

Health and medical services were also discussed in detail. The Chief Medical Officer was asked to arrange medical facilities, staff and ambulances at the venue, with an emphasis on ensuring proper medical care facilities.

The Deputy Commissioner urged all departments to work in close coordination to make the Independence Day celebrations a grand success.
