POONCH, AUGUST 23: To ensure seamless election operations and enhance voter convenience, District Election Officer Poonch, Vikas Kundal chaired a high-level meeting here today to review the implementation of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) across all polling stations in the district.

The meeting focused on assessing the infrastructure readiness of the polling stations and addressing any deficiencies ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections, underscoring the administration’s commitment to a smooth and accessible voting experience for all.

The review meeting was attended by the Returning Officers of all three assembly constituencies in Poonch, who provided updates on the current status of polling station preparedness in their respective constituencies. During the meeting, Shri Vikas Kundal stressed the importance of ensuring that the AMF, which includes essential infrastructure like proper lighting, drinking water, ramps for disabled voters, and other necessary facilities, are in place at each polling station.

“Ensuring that every polling station is adequately equipped with the required minimum facilities is critical to ensuring a fair, accessible, and inclusive voting process. It is imperative that we prioritize voter convenience and accessibility at every level,” said DEO.

The District Election Officer instructed the Returning Officers to conduct thorough inspections of the polling stations and to address any gaps in the AMF without delay. He further emphasized the need for close coordination between various departments to ensure that all polling stations are fully prepared well in advance of the Election Day.

The meeting also discussed other critical election preparedness issues, including manpower deployment, and logistical support for the smooth conduct of the assembly elections. The officials were directed to work in close collaboration to ensure that all necessary arrangements are made in a timely and efficient manner.
