The Auto Association and Fruit Vendors Association, on Monday, announced their decision to support former Minister and MLA Bandipora, Usman Majid, in the upcoming 2024 Assembly Elections, giving a significant boost to his political base. The associations have urged their members, associates, and functionaries to extend full support to Majid.

The associations said that Usman Majid’s dedication in recent years demonstrates that he deserves to win and lead effectively. Welcoming the support, Majid expressed his commitment to fulfilling the people’s expectations and voiced hope that this backing would further strengthen his electoral prospects in Bandipora.

Representing hundreds of local auto drivers and fruit vendors, the associations expressed full confidence in Majid’s leadership, mission, and vision, highlighting his longstanding commitment to the welfare and development of the Bandipora constituency.

During a meeting held on Monday, the leaders of the Auto and Fruit Vendors Association pledged their support to Majid, citing his relentless efforts to uplift marginalized communities, ensure infrastructural development, and protect the rights of small traders and workers in the area.

The associations said, “Usman Majid has always stood by the common man. He understands the struggles of small vendors and auto drivers and has consistently worked to address our issues. His leadership has given us hope, and we believe that under his representation, Bandipora will experience equitable development and opportunities for all.”

Majid expressed his gratitude and reaffirmed his commitment to working for the betterment of all sections of society, especially those often overlooked. “The support of the Auto and Fruit Vendors Association means a lot to me. They are the backbone of our local economy, and their well-being is essential for the overall growth of Bandipora. My fight has always been for the common people, and I will continue to ensure that their voices are heard at every level of government,” Majid said.

Meanwhile, Majid visited shops throughout the Bandipora market, interacting with shopkeepers and pedestrians as part of his campaign to win over voters. Speaking to media personnel during the campaign, Majid said that the people of Bandipora are responding positively to his ideas and expressed optimism about the outcome.

He also urged the people of Bandipora not to be swayed by the false claims of the INC-NC alliance and to see through their rhetoric. “The INC-NC has repeatedly shown that they care only for their own power and interests, not for the welfare of the people of Bandipora,” Majid added.
