Inter-Division UT Level Kho-Kho, Volleyball Tournament started in Kishtwar

KISHTWAR OCTOBER 04: Under the direction of Director General Youth Services & Sports J&K, Rajinder Singh Tara, and with the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, the Department of Youth Services & Sports Kishtwar, under the supervision of District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Jaffer Haider Sheikh, hosted the Inter-Division UT Level Tournament in the disciplines of Kho-Kho (U/17 & U/19) and Volleyball (U/14 Girls) at GHSS Girls Kishtwar.

The opening ceremony saw the presence of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan alongside other dignitaries including the Principal of GHSS Girls Kishtwar and officials from concerned department.

In his speech, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan, praised the efforts of the Department of Youth Services & Sports and commended the athletes for their dedication and enthusiasm. He emphasized the importance of sports in fostering unity, discipline, and a sense of teamwork among the youth.

After the Speech, the DC declared the tournament open, marking the beginning of an exciting display of sportsmanship and competitive spirit.

Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, a cultural performance was presented by the talented students of GHSS Girls Kishtwar, which highlighted the rich cultural heritage of the region and provided an energetic start to the tournament proceedings.

Meanwhile, Jaffer Haider Sheikh, DYSSO Kishtwar, in his remarks, extended his gratitude to the participants, their coaches, and the organizing team.
