Srinagar, Oct 21 : Political parties, religious groups, and separatists in Jammu and Kashmir have condemned the terror attack that claimed the lives of seven people in Gagangeer in the Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir.

Following the attack, various political leaders denounced this heinous act. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited the injured on Monday and condemned the barbaric act. Similarly, National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah, CPI (M) leader M Y Tarigami, and BJP leader Sunil Sharma also expressed their condemnation.

According to the news agency KINS, Kashmir’s chief cleric and Hurriyat Conference leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, condemned the attack.

“Islam strongly deplores such inhuman acts. Every life is precious, and losing lives in this manner is extremely painful,” said Mirwaiz.

He said that the incident is a grim reminder of the unending cycle of violence and uncertainty that the people of the region have endured for decades.

Mirwaiz prayed for the injured, wishing them a speedy recovery, and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones.

Another religious leader, Moulana Abbas, also expressed grief and sorrow over the killings.

Aga Syed Hassan Al-Musvi Al-Safvi, President of the Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Sharia Shian and Founder of the Anjuman Interfaith Dialogue Chapter, condemned the attack in Sonamarg, Ganderbal, and expressed sympathy with the victims’ families.

“I am saddened to learn about the killings. This cowardly attack, perpetrated by invisible hands, has once again fueled public anger and heightened the sense of alienation from the system,” he said.

He emphasized that such killings have marked Kashmir’s bloody history over the years. “The incident is tragic for all of us. I am deeply grieved, and there is a need for a permanent end to the killing of innocent civilians, which goes against our teachings and beliefs. My sincere prayers are with the families of the victims,” he added.
