REASI, NOVEMBER 12: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan chaired a meeting to assess the progress of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) implementation in the district, here today.

Joined by XENs, AEEs, and JEs, the DC emphasized completing all civil work components by the end of November to accelerate water accessibility for district residents.

Special emphasis was placed on completing infrastructure in snow-bound areas before the onset of snowfall, ensuring continuous water supply through the winter.

The engineers were asked to strictly adhere to norms and approved plans for the installation of water supply pipelines across Reasi.

Issues regarding forest compensation were also discussed, with the Deputy Commissioner assuring that the matter has been taken up with the Managing Director of Jal Jeevan Mission for swift resolution. XENs have been tasked to expedite pending cases to facilitate timely project progression.

Furthermore, the DC issued strict instructions to terminate contracts of contractors who have failed to commence work despite repeated notices and to initiate fresh tenders for pending tasks. “Upon project completion, officials will expedite the “Har Ghar Jal” certification in each panchayat, aiming to ensure that every household has access to a functional tap water connection as promised under the mission” he said.

ADDC Sukhdev Samyal, CPO Narinder Kumar and other officials attended the meeting.
