Awareness Program on hazards of Tobacco held at Govt Dy. SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College Kastigarh

DODA, NOVEMBER 21: Government Dy. SP Aman Thakur Memorial Degree College, Kastigarh, hosted an informative event on the “Ill Effects and Abuses of Tobacco” under the guidance of the college principal, Prof. Koshal Kumar Mangotra. The program aimed to raise awareness among students about the harmful consequences of tobacco consumption and foster a healthy, tobacco-free lifestyle.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Anupam Lata, who emphasized the detrimental impact of tobacco on the human body and mind. Dr. Lata discussed how tobacco use contributes to life-threatening diseases such as cancer, heart ailments, lung disorders, and other respiratory issues. She also underscored the importance of preventive measures and lifestyle modifications in curbing the growing menace of tobacco addiction, particularly among the youth.

The program saw active participation from faculty members, including Prof. Satpal and Dr. Fardoos, along with enthusiastic contributions from students. Notable participants included Arti Katoch, Chanderjeet Singh, Mamta Devi, Damani, and Kavita Devi, who engaged in discussions and activities highlighting the need for collective action against tobacco abuse. The event concluded with a pledge to spread awareness and discourage tobacco use within their communities.

initiatives play a pivotal role in educating young minds about the adverse effects of tobacco and inspiring them to advocate for a healthier and tobacco-free society. The program was lauded for its impactful messaging and the collaborative efforts of students and faculty alike.
