BARAMULLA, NOVEMBER 27: The District Administration Baramulla today organized a Mega Kisan Mela at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Pattan, providing a dynamic platform for farmers to engage with experts from agriculture, horticulture, and allied sectors, gaining valuable insights into innovative techniques and technologies.

The event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, in the presence of Chief Planning Officer, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Pattan, SDM Uri, Chief Horticulture Officer, CEO, and other senior officers.

The mela witnessed a remarkable turnout of enthusiastic farmers from across the district, showcasing their keen interest in advancing agricultural practices and engaging with the resources made available towards fostering agricultural growth.

The event aimed to provide farmers with critical knowledge about modern agricultural practices, government schemes, and essential resources to boost agricultural productivity and economic growth in the region.

The DC inspected the stalls set up by various departments, including agriculture and horticulture, showcasing innovative tools, welfare schemes, efficient farming techniques, high-yield crop varieties, and fertilizers.

Speaking on the occasion, Minga Sherpa stated that the mela serves as a platform for our farmers to access advanced farming techniques, understand government welfare schemes, and explore opportunities to enhance agricultural yields and income.

The DC further said that the administration is committed to empowering the farming community with the necessary tools and knowledge to ensure sustainable growth.
