SAMBA, DECEMBER 2: District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) and Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the upcoming Special Summary Revision of the Panchayat Electoral Roll.

The initiative, aimed at updating the electoral roll of the District with the qualifying date of November 11, 2024, will ensure a transparent and inclusive democratic process at the grassroots level.

Key aspects of the revision process were discussed to ensure the electoral rolls reflect the latest and most accurate information. Officers were directed to engage local communities, resolve grievances promptly, and address any discrepancies identified during the process. The DPEO reiterated the importance of ensuring that no eligible voter is left out.

The Special Summary Revision will commence with Publication of Draft Rolls on November 11, 2024. The Claims and Objections period, which includes provisions for additions, deletions, corrections, and transpositions, will run from November 11 to December 9, 2024. The Final Publication of the Panchayat Electoral Roll 2024 is scheduled for January 6, 2025.

The meeting was attended by Deputy District Election Officer (Dy. DEO), Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), District Panchayat Officer (DPO), Block Development Officers (BDOs), and other concerned officials.
