Srinagar, Dec 03 : Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq Tuesday expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Mufti Ejaz Ahmad Farooqi, a prominent member of the Mufti family, who resided in Ilahi Bagh, Srinagar.
In a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Mirwaiz personally visited the residence of the late Mufti Ejaz to offer his condolences to the late Mufti’s young son, Mufti Haider Ahmad Farooqi, and to Mufti Azam, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, praying to Almighty Allah to grant the Mufti family and their relatives patience. He also prayed for Jannat-ul-Firdous to the departed soul.
It is noteworthy that besides the relationship between the Mirwaiz and Mufti families, there have also been close ties and associations. The late Mufti Ejaz Ahmad Farooqi was also a close relative of Mufassire Quran Mirwaiz Yusuf Shah Sahib (RA)
