GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 04: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir, today presided over a Public Grievance Redressal Camp as part of the weekly Block Diwas program at Higher Secondary School Hariganiwan.

The camp saw active participation from local residents of Block Gund and the District Development Council (DDC) member, who presented a range of issues and demands from their respective areas.

The participants raised concerns regarding the upgradation of the Surfraw school building, establishment of Fire & Emergency Service at Gund, Degree College in Kangan Subdivision, construction of a boundary wall for MS Gund, improved facilities at the Primary Health Centre, and protective bunds along Sindh Nallah.

The DDC member from Gund highlighted additional concerns, including the geo-tagging of PMAY cases, drainage services in the main market, removal of road encroachments, and staff shortages in schools across the Hariganiwan zone.

The DC gave a patient hearing to all grievances and assured the attendees of timely and effective resolutions.
He reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and prompt public service delivery. He instructed the concerned departments to submit a detailed report on the issues raised at the earliest.

The DC directed the KPDCL to strictly adhere to the power supply schedule and replace damaged poles and wires without delay, ensuring uninterrupted power during winters.

SDM Kangan was instructed to compile a list of schools lacking boundary walls or washrooms, so proposals can be framed to address these gaps.

To achieve 100% coverage under the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme, the DC directed the SDM Kangan to organize registration camps in collaboration with the Horticulture Department. These camps will also address Aadhaar updates for children aged 0-5 years and e-KYC for ration cards.

Regarding the geo-tagging of PMAY cases, the Block Development Officer informed that all approved cases have been verified, and supplementary data is under process.

The Lead District Manager assured that banking services in Block Gund would be fully operational by March 2024.

The DC reiterated the district administration’s dedication to fostering citizen welfare and addressing grievances in a time-bound manner, urging the public to actively engage in such outreach initiatives.

Representatives from various departments, including Agriculture, Social Welfare, and Banks, briefed the attendees about government schemes like PMSBY, PMJJBY, PMEGP, and other social security programs, urging eligible citizens to avail of these benefits.

The camp was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Gulzar Ahmad; SDM Kangan, District Program Officer, ACD, CMO Ganderbal, ACP, Tehsildar Kangan and other district and sectoral officers.
