JK logs 4354 new cases, 5 fatalities

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Friday reported five deaths and another big spike of 4,354 cases pushing the number of active cases to 45,156 in the UT.
With five more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,647 and 4,354 fresh positive cases reported on Friday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 424,085.
Of the exact number of 424,085 cases, 270,345 are from Kashmir division and 153,740 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 4,354 new cases, 2,914 belong to Kashmir division while as 1,440 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 270,345 including 234,920 recoveries and 2,379 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 153,740 including 140,362 recoveries and 2,268 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 45,156 including 34,046 from Kashmir division and 11,110 from Jammu division.
With 5,850 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 374,282 which is 88.26 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 916 from Srinagar, 290 from Baramulla, 229 from Budgam, 90 from Pulwama, 618 from Kupwara, 329 from Anantnag, 109 from Bandipora, 42 from Ganderbal, 262 from Kulgam and 29 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 1,440 from Jammu division include 763 from Jammu district, 111 from Udhampur, 43 from Rajouri, 103 from Doda, 68 from Kathua, 104 from Samba, 30 from Kishtwar, 91 from Poonch, 106 from Ramban and 21 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.
As per officials figures, 96,905 positive cases including 896 deaths and 82,180 recoveries are from Srinagar, 35,301 including 299 deaths and 28,959 recoveries are from Baramulla, 32,763 including 28,931 recoveries and 226 deaths are from Budgam, 17,749 including 16,520 recoveries and 199 deaths are from Pulwama, 19,199 including 171 deaths and 17,631 recoveries are from Kupwara, 21,192 including 18,216 recoveries and 216 deaths are from Anantnag, 12,987 cases including 11,197 and 111 deaths are from Bandipora, 13,137 including 11,619 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Ganderbal, 15,060 including 12,643 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 6,052 including 5,824 recoveries and 59 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 70,361 including 62,664 recoveries and 1,195 deaths are from Jammu district, 13,697 including 13,066 recoveries and 143 deaths are from Udhampur, 12,431 including 11,756 recoveries and 245 deaths are from Rajouri, 9,450 including 8,113 recoveries and 140 deaths are from Doda, 10,783 including 10,245 recoveries and 159 deaths are from Kathua, 8,604 including 7,954 recoveries and 120 deaths are from Samba, 5,412 including 5,084 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,459 including 6,958 recoveries and 107 deaths are from Poonch, 7,170 including 6,468 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ramban and 8,373 including 8,054 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 5,694,035 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 16,973 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 45,156 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 5,202,835 persons have completed the surveillance period and 424,424 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 21,193,599 samples are available. Out of 21,193,599 the number of samples tested negative stands at 20,769,514 while as 424,085 have tested positive, among them 45,156 persons are active, 374,282 persons have recovered and 4,647 persons have died.
