Bemina Hostel Under Scrutiny: Alcohol and Drug Use Triggers Strong Response from Authorities
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegram

Bemina, Jan 6, KNT:  Authorities at the Government Medical College Boys Hostel in the Bemina area of Srinagar have uncovered evidence of alcohol consumption within the hostel premises.

Sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that during a routine inspection, bottles of alcohol were discovered, raising concerns over potential violations of both hostel rules and legal statutes.

Complaints have also surfaced alleging that some hostel inmates may be engaging in the use of narcotic drugs, a practice strictly prohibited by law and the hostel’s regulations.

In response, the hostel management has issued a stern warning to all students, emphasizing a zero-tolerance policy toward such behavior.

The Warden of the Boys Hostel stated that any resident found guilty of possessing, consuming, or distributing alcohol or narcotics would face severe punishment. “This includes immediate cancellation of their accommodation and initiating legal action without prior notice.”

A written notice from the hostel’s warden, addressed to residents, reiterates the importance of maintaining discipline and adhering to the code of conduct set by the College Management. The warden stressed that such violations not only harm the institution’s reputation but also jeopardize the future of the students involved.

Copies of the notice have been forwarded to senior college authorities, including the Principal/Dean, the Chief Warden, and members of the Discipline Committee.

The hostel administration has urged all students to uphold the values of discipline and responsibility, ensuring a safe and conducive environment for academic and personal growth.
