Srinagar, Jan 09 : Two talented young men from Kashmir have been selected to represent India at the prestigious International Snow Sculpture Competition in the United States of America.

According to the news agency, Zahoor Din of Singhpora Pattan (in north Kashmir) and Suhail Mohammad Khan of Newa Pulwama (in south Kashmir) have been selected for the upcoming international Snow Sculpture held from January 19, 2025, in the USA. This globally acclaimed event brings together master sculptors from across the world, offering a platform to showcase artistic excellence in the unique medium of snow.

Din, a skilled sculptor, and Ahmed, a deaf and mute artist whose creativity speaks volumes, have earned their place among the world’s finest. Their selection underscores not only their exceptional talent but also the rich artistic traditions of Kashmir, which is also known for its centuries-old craftsmanship. The region is now gaining recognition for its snow sculpting artistry on an international stage.

Speaking to KNO, Zahoor said, “This is a dream come true. I hope to make my country and my region proud. This platform is an opportunity not just for us but for the art of Kashmir to be celebrated worldwide.”

The competition is expected to attract global attention, with entries from several countries.

The duo’s participation marks a significant achievement for the artists and their homeland. Through intricate designs and creative expression, they aim to capture the spirit of Kashmir and its vibrant culture
