COVID-19: Nine die; 2,751 test positive in J&K

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday reported nine deaths and another spike of 2,751 cases pushing the number of active cases to 32,558 in the UT.
With nine more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached 4,683 and 2,751 fresh positive cases reported on Tuesday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 438,176.
Of the exact number of 438,176 cases, 279,593 are from Kashmir division and 158,583 from Jammu division.
Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 2,751 new cases, 1,646 belong to Kashmir division while as 1,105 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 279,593 including 253,630 recoveries and 2,394 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 158,583 including 147,305 recoveries and 2,289 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 32,558 including 23,569 from Kashmir division and 8,989 from Jammu division.
With 6,556 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 400,935 which is 91.50 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 440 from Srinagar, 136 from Baramulla, 177 from Budgam, 45 from Pulwama, 405 from Kupwara, 108 from Anantnag, 30 from Bandipora, 59 from Ganderbal, 209 from Kulgam and 37 Shopian in Kashmir division while as 1,105 from Jammu division include 561 from Jammu district, 96 from Udhampur, 21 from Rajouri, 74 from Doda, 44 from Kathua, 86 from Samba, 11 from Kishtwar, 31 from Poonch, 149 from Ramban and 32 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Meanwhile, authorities said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and the tally stands at 51.
As per officials figures, 99,517 positive cases including 901 deaths and 88,419 recoveries are from Srinagar, 36,601 including 303 deaths and 32,013 recoveries are from Baramulla, 33,902 including 31,868 recoveries and 227 deaths are from Budgam, 18,100 including 17,195 recoveries and 200 deaths are from Pulwama, 20,878 including 171 deaths and 19,867 recoveries are from Kupwara, 21,916 including 19,382 recoveries and 218 deaths are from Anantnag, 13,340 cases including 12,528 and 112 deaths are from Bandipora, 13,304 including 12,334 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Ganderbal, 15,860 including 14,125 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Kulgam and 6,175 including 5,899 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 72,901 including 67,024;recoveries and 1,208 deaths are from Jammu district, 14,168 including 13,663 recoveries and 144 deaths are from Udhampur, 12,584 including 12,079 recoveries and 245 deaths are from Rajouri, 9,933 including 8,477 recoveries and 142 deaths are from Doda, 10,977 including 10,500 recoveries and 162 deaths are from Kathua, 8,805 including 8,184 recoveries and 122 deaths are from Samba, 5,602 including 5,173 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Kishtwar, 7,595 including 7,114 recoveries and 107 deaths are from Poonch, 7,544 including 6,814 recoveries and 69 deaths are from Ramban and 8,474 including 8,277 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin 5,803,291 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 29,886 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 32,558 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 5,308,634 persons have completed the surveillance period and 427,530 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 21,482,659 samples are available. Out of 21,482,659 the number of samples tested negative stands at 21,044,483 while as 438,176 have tested positive, among them 32,558 persons are active, 400,935 persons have recovered and 4,683 persons have died—(KNO)
