JKEDI, Dogra Degree College Samba sign MoU to make students industry ready

JAMMU, JANUARY 24: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) and Dogra Degree College Samba signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here on Friday to work together for entrepreneurship development and startup related services.

The MoU aims at helping the students enhance their skills and knowledge with regard to entrepreneurship, innovation and startups. The MoU was signed in a formal ceremony held at JKEDI, Baribrahmana campus and was attended by key officials from both the institutions. The signatories were Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Director JKEDI and Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College, Samba, Dr. Dharamveer Sharma, Dean, Dogra Educational Trust, Amarpreet Kaur, Convenor and Ashish Thakur, Social Media Coordinator, IIC Dogra Degree College along with the officers/officials of JKEDI were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Director JKEDI Rajinder Kumar Sharma highlighted the importance of working together and focusing the efforts on cooperation within the areas of entrepreneurship, skill based training, educational research and promotion of startup and innovation culture. He stressed that JKEDI shall extend support for internships to students of the college, based on recommendations through proper channels subject to suitable positions and criteria fulfilment. The students shall also be trained in emerging technologies in order to bridge the skill gap and make them industry ready.”

Dr. Bela Thakur, Principal Dogra Degree College applauded the partnership as a significant stride to help the student community benefit by enhancing their skills and knowledge with regard to entrepreneurship, innovation and startups.”

The MoU between the JKEDI and Dogra Degree College, Samba is a part of JKEDI’s continuous approach towards developing a innovation based startup friendly ecosystem in the U.T of Jammu and Kashmir.
