LMD Doda takes swift action against less weighment of LPG Cylinder
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterWhatsappTelegram

DODA, FEBRUARY 20: Acting on a complaint regarding less weighment of an LPG cylinder, the Legal Metrology Department (LMD) Doda conducted a thorough inspection at Gas Agency Bhaderwah. The inspection, carried out in the presence of the complainant, involved randomly weighing 33 LPG cylinders to verify their net weight.

During the inspection, all cylinders were found to be of correct weight except for the one in question, which was short by 2.8 kg. Taking immediate action, the department booked the agency under the relevant legal provisions for short weighment.

A new LPG cylinder was promptly provided to the complainant, who expressed satisfaction with the swift response of the department. The complainant also appreciated Assistant Controller LMD Doda’s proactive efforts and urged the public, through the media, to remain vigilant when purchasing LPG cylinders.

LMD reaffirms its commitment to protecting consumer rights and encourages citizens to report any discrepancies in the weighment of essential commodities. The department remains dedicated to ensuring fair trade practices and will continue working in the best interests of consumers.

Furthermore, the Legal Metrology Department will continue conducting such inspection drives in the future also to prevent unfair trade practices and safeguard consumer rights.
